Under The Radar – The Beaches

Posted on by ryan.daly

*If you would like to have you or your band featured on Under The Radar, email Daly @ ryan.daly@timminsradio.rogers.com with the subject “Under The Radar”*

I could describe the new music, but it’s better to let the bands do it themselves

If you made it To Smooth Rock’s Truckfest last Weekend, you would’ve seen The Beaches kick off Saturday Night with an explosive, indie rock set with a punk rock feel to it that absolutely blew the crowd away. We talk to their guitarist Kylie about why Northern Ontario crowds rock, the importance of having fun on stage, why being labelled as an “All Female Band“. can be a bad thing, and what the future holds for The Beaches. Check it out!

Good things come to those who complain, Straight Outta Compton Is FINALLY in Timmins!

Posted on by ryan.daly

I honestly felt bad for the amount of complaining I did that this movie wasn’t in Timmins. But now it is so it all worked out!

Straight Outta Compton (R-rated Drama): In the mid-1980s, the streets of Compton, California, were some of the most dangerous in the country. When five young men translated their experiences growing up into brutally honest music that rebelled against abusive authority, they gave an explosive voice to a silenced generation. Following the meteoric rise and fall of N.W.A., Straight Outta Compton tells the astonishing story of how these youngsters revolutionized music and pop culture forever the moment they told the world the truth about life in the hood and ignited a cultural war. — (C) Universal Pictures
